TRAUMA INFORMED YOGA

These classes are based on the principles of the yoga for anxiety & trauma class series. Through mindful movement and breath we calm the nervous system and make space for deeper healing. Students are encouraged to find comfort and autonomy in their practice - using the body as a tool for developing agency and loving kindness towards themselves.

All of the practices are carefully selected based on the individuals in the group, incorporating the best practices for trauma. Time is given during each practice to observe and build awareness. After each practice participants are encouraged to observe their energy, body sensations, thoughts and emotions. Students who already practice yoga have said it gives them a whole new perspective on how to make their practice healing.

*This class is suitable for all levels and support people with anxiety, trauma, chronic pain, illness recovery (cancer, heart disease etc), TBI, and anyone interested in cultivating deeper body awareness and learning easy relaxation techniques. We take our time exploring modifications and making every pose comfortable.
